Imagine you are a Remote Sensing Technologist. Work in a group to design, build & code your own electric vehicle using the Climate Action Kit!

Your job is to make an autonomous vehicle that drives, senses obstacles, and re-routes to avoid them.

Step 1

Research the main parts of an electric vehicle.

Step 2

Plan your project and decide what building blocks, smart components, and craft materials you will need for building.

Step 3

Build your prototype. Connect it to Microsoft MakeCode to add code that makes the electric vehicle drive and avoid obstacles.

Step 4

Test and debug until the electric car works as intended.

Success Criteria

I can build an electric car with the Climate Action Kit that uses:

  • the sonar sensor to stop when it encounters an obstacle
  • conditionals to trigger specific actions based on input
  • a variable to create a way to turn my electric car on and off

Don’t feel limited by this. Feel free to get creative and add more features if you would like!
