In this project, you will use machine learning and different materials to create a crash pad. Your goal is to use Newton’s Third Law of Motion to design a crash pad for your micro:bit to safely land in.

Prepare
You’ll need the following items to complete the activity:
- Battery Pack
- Wrist Strap
- micro:bit V2
- Computer with access to Microsoft MakeCode
Build
First, let’s set up your micro:bit and CHARGE battery pack. Make sure your battery pack is charged, and then watch the video for assembly.

Plan an investigation to provide evidence that the change in an object’s motion depends on the sum of the
forces on the object and the mass of the object. Emphasis includes balanced and unbalanced forces,
qualitative comparisons of forces, mass and motion changes (Newton’s Second Law), frame of reference,
and correct units.
