Welcome to unit one of Power Storage for Wind Energy with the Climate Action Kit

In this lesson, we’ll explore nonrenewable energy and discover why it’s not good for our planet. We’ll also learn how we can keep the energy that wind makes and understand the technology that helps us do that. In the ‘Take Action’ part of our lesson, we’ll see how wind turbines work in real life. Then, with the help of the Climate Action kit and a micro:bit, we’ll build and program our very own wind turbine model!

Learning Goals

Discover the different types of forces found in nature.

Learn how we can take the force of the wind and turn it into energy using Wind Turbines

Build and code a prototype Wind turbine with a LED light to show power levels, using the Climate Action kit.
