The Great Barrier Reef is one of the biggest coral reefs in the world. It is in trouble because of coral bleaching caused by warm ocean water.

Many people are working hard to protect the Great Barrier Reef:

  • Scientists are studying reefs and adding new coral to help the reef re-grow.
  • Communities near the reef are also reducing pollution, so the coral has a better chance to survive.
