Here are a few final tips and tricks for using the Climate Action Kit.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Thread the connector cables through the holes in the building blocks for better cable management.
- You can connect components together in a line, or ‘daisy chain’ when building (Sensor Components only).
- You can easily switch Sensor ports on the Breakout Board without affecting your code – i.e., Sensors do not need to be programmed to specific ports. However, Servo Motors do need to be programmed to specific ports (see ‘Understanding Servo Motors’ section in this course).
- Use the small cable connector piece to attach the cables together.
- Customize your projects by using craft materials and the butterfly clips.
- Always make sure the Water Pump is stored away properly. When you’re finished with the water pump, allow it to run out of water for a few seconds to clear the pump and tubing. Then, allow it to air dry overnight before storing it away.
