Controlled forest burns can help keep our ecosystems healthy and growing, but we want to make sure that they don’t grow into a dangerous wildfire.

Technology like autonomous vehicles and drones have sensors that help us track fires from a safe distance! We can use sensors to look at the temperature of the ground, and track weather that may start fires with lightning.

The company Robotic Cats from Hong Kong. This company uses robots with special cameras to see heat and smoke from a fire. Once the robot sees a fire, it sends an alert to firefighters to stop the fire fast, protecting both people and nature nearby!

Today, we are going to imagine we are Forestry Technicians working with a team to design a wildfire detection vehicle with the Climate Action Kit.
