Imagine you are a Renewable Energy Engineer who is helping to design and build a wind farm.
Work together to design, build, and code your own wind turbine that will be tall, sturdy, and turn in multiple directions!

As you go through the steps below, you may wish to use our Design Journal Template to keep track of your work.

Step 1
Research the main parts of a wind turbine.

Step 2
Plan your project and decide what building blocks, smart components, and craft materials you will need for building.

Step 3
Build your prototype. Connect it to Microsoft MakeCode to add code that makes the blades spin in both directions.

Step 4
Test and debug until the wind turbine works.
SUCCESS CRITERIA
I can build a wind turbine with the Climate Action Kit that has at least:
- a sturdy base to prevent it from tipping
- a tower that is tall enough to catch the wind
- blades that spin in both directions
Don’t feel limited by this. You can get creative and add more features if you would like!
