Adding the Climate Action Kit Extension for Open-Ended Coding
This video will show you how to access the Climate Action codeblocks to code without needing to go through a tutorial as part of a lesson.
By adding the Forward Education extension to MakeCode, you can start coding with the Climate Action Kit quickly without needing to go through a lesson. Lessons also limit the blocks you have access to so this is a good way to have the full breath of the kit at your fingertips.
Steps to add the Extension
- Open a new project in MakeCode.
- Navigate to the Extensions drawer at the bottom
- Search for “forward” “fwd” or “forwardedu” in the search bar.
- Click on the “fwd-edu” extension
- It will then load you back into the MakeCode environment with new drawers; Sensors, and Motors.
