In the ‘Create’ activity, you will work in a small group to design, build & code your own automated tree seeder device using the Climate Action Kit!

Follow these steps:

Step 1: Research different technology used in reforestation. Consider what features these devices have in order to function effectively in a particular type of environment.

Step 2: Plan what features your device will have and decide what building blocks, sensors, smart components, and craft materials you will need for building.

Step 3: Build your prototype, then connect it to Microsoft MakeCode to add code.

Step 4: Test and debug until the device works.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

I can build an automated tree seeder prototype with the Climate Action Kit that can:

  • drive and navigate through a field
  • distribute seeds evenly throughout said field

Don’t feel limited by this. You can get creative and add more features if you would like!
