Welcome to your Climate Action Kit experience! We’re excited to have you onboard!

The Climate Action Kit is a powerful coding and robotics kit designed to integrate STEAM learning into your classroom while empowering students to take meaningful climate action. It includes everything you need to build engaging, hands-on projects that address real-world environmental challenges. By using the Climate Action Kit, your students will gain valuable technical skills, explore green and technology-based careers, and develop a sense of hope and agency as they create solutions that will make a positive impact on our planet.

Image of the Climate Action Kit, featuring a green storage container labeled 'Climate Action Kit' surrounded by its contents. The kit includes various components such as a breakout board, sensors, motors, wheels, cables, and building blocks.

What makes the Climate Action Kit truly special is its flexibility—its components can be combined in countless ways to create a wide variety of projects in areas like renewable energy, sustainable farming, and more! Whether you’re building an irrigation system or designing a bee counter, the possibilities are endless. As you and your students gain confidence, you’ll discover that the only limit is your imagination.

Check out some of the projects your students may create:

A 3D model of Forward Education's bee counter project build
A 3D model of Forward Education's sea-turtle safe beach light project build.
A final model render of Forward Education's Warehouse Delivery Vehicle build
Forward Education's final mobile irrigation vehicle build as a 3D model.
Forward Education's final coral reef model as a 3D model.
Product Render – Windmill – Front copy
Build a wind turbine to explore how wind is a renewable energy source that can help us generate electricity sustainably.
plants-and-pollinators-build-front-render
Track pollinator populations by building a bee counter that monitors movement and supports conservation efforts.
turtle-project-render
Design beach lighting that protects sea turtle hatchlings!
project-solar-1
See how solar panels can be programmed to track maximum sunlight throughout the day!
gr9-verticalfarm-thumbnail-render
Build an indoor vertical farm that optimizes light treatment to maximize plant growth.
Warehouse Delivery Vehicle Render
Test out autonomous electric vehicles and learn how they can be used for sustainability.
hs-mobileirrigation-render
Optimize a mobile irrigation system to help farmers conserve water as precipitation patterns change.
es-coralreef-render-red
Create a computational model to illustrate how warming waters impact coral reefs!

IMPORTANT NOTES

Make sure you have access to your V2 (version 2) micro:bit and Climate Action Kit for this course! A V1 micro:bit will not work with the Climate Action Kit. For more information on what a micro:bit is, please refer to our Knowledge Base or our ‘Coding with micro:bit and MakeCode’ asynchronous course.
