Work in a small group to design, build, and code your own mobile irrigation system using the Climate Action Kit! Pretend you are Irrigation Technicians tasked with developing an efficient system that conserves water while keeping crops healthy.

As you go through the steps below, you may wish to use our Design Journal Template to keep track of your work.
Follow these steps:

Step 1
Research examples of mobile irrigation systems used in agriculture. Focus on how they distribute water and and conserve resources.

Step 2
Plan what features your light will have and decide what building blocks, sensors, smart components, and craft materials you will need for building

Step 3
Build your prototype, then connect it to Microsoft MakeCode to add code

Step 4
Test and debug until the device works
SUCCESS CRITERIA
I can build a mobile irrigation system with the Climate Action Kit that:
- navigates a field efficiently while delivering water
- minimizes water usage compared to traditional irrigation systems
and uses at least:
- the water pump for controlled irrigation
- one sensor to detect environmental conditions
- loops and/or control statements to optimize water usage
Don’t feel limited by this. You can get creative and add more features if you would like!
