Replanting Our Forests with Automated Tree Seeders

Use the continuous Servo Motors to drive the tree seeding vehicle forward and drop 4 ‘simulated seeds’ at set time intervals using the positional Servo Motor.

The Big Idea

In this lesson, we will discover the importance of forests and their impact on our planet. We will gain a deeper understanding of the crucial role that forests play in maintaining biodiversity, regulating the water cycle, and contributing to the carbon cycle. You will also explore the consequences of deforestation and learn about ways to reforest our world.

Take Action!

In the ‘Take Action’ section of this lesson, we will build a simulated tree seeder capable of planting seeds to reforest areas impacted by deforestation.

The goal of this project is to imagine how we can use technology solutions to replant precious trees. And furthermore, how forests affect biodiversity and our environment and what we can do to prevent deforestation in the first place!
